MUSIC HISTORY MUSEUM OF MONTREAL

A documentary initiative preserving the city's musical legacy through interviews with artists, venue owners, studio operators, collectives, and beyond.

By recording firsthand accounts the project creates a public archive that captures Montreal's DIY ethos, cultural turning points, and hidden histories—from technical studio details to pivotal live shows.

These oral histories will be shared as Wikipedia-style articles, multimedia archives, and potential exhibitions, ensuring the stories behind the city's music scene remain accessible for future generations.

Your participation helps spotlight why these spaces mattered, how they adapted to challenges, and what they reveal about Montreal's creative identity.
